Hammali bin Johari or Lego hails from Kg. Baru, Kuala Lumpur. Having represented Kuala Lumpur in the sport of Sepaktakraw in the 80s and 90s, Hammali Lego is an independent cartoonist who has contributed his cartoons to Majalah Didik, BIP, Berita Harian, Harian Metro, Minda Pelajar and Utusan Malaysia.
