Ain

Nurain Husniza or Ain also known by her artist name as @ainuvu on Instagram.
Ain is a 16 year old student from Puncak Alam that expresses most of her thoughts and opinions through art. Most of her arts are in forms of cartoons, illustration and comics. She is outspoken and opinionated of her ideas. By combining with her interest in art, she continued to express herself through her drawings.
Ainuvu loves comics especially the Japanese manga and it sparked a deeper passion in her to start drawing.
A majority of her comics is for her own self-expression, some of the comics sketches are about her student life in school and her dissatisfactions. Most of the art and comics are about her opinion on the state of civil society as itself.
She is currently just a student with an interest in artists in art stream at secondary school but she loves to be able to be more professional in her hobby and share her opinion. She believes by joining this exhibition will give her exposure to enhance her knowledge in art.

In America , freedom of expression is a right. But people have been abusing this privilege for their own selfish needs and agendas. They feed into the idea that this is their right to self-expression without realizing they are oppressing other people in the process. This very example can be taken from the recent protestors in America endangering the general public by protesting and not practicing social distancing.
#01 Man of Expression
For most people, the lockdown period was a necessary move to curb the spread of Covid-19. But what if we saw it in another perspective? For women who are in abusive households, it meant no escape from their abusers, either from going to school or work. And their abusers could easily get away with doing anything as the victims have no means of other contact. In this illustration I wanted to bring more awareness towards this problem.

#03 The Lesser Evil
This illustration illustrates the act of the Chinese government when the virus was just starting to spread. Instead of putting the city of Wuhan under quarantine, they focused on censoring doctors and journalists so no information can be spread. This took away many lives that could be saved. Even the doctor that first spoke about the virus was silenced and had . This negligence by the government costed the doctors own life and many many more, that could have been saved.
#04 Our TV Star
A woman does not need to wear makeup for the approval of others. A woman does not have to do anything to fit the beauty standards. When I do, it is truly for myself only. Even when I wear a mask, I can choose to apply makeup. Because it is my own and not for anyone else, so you might say its useless, but it was never intended for you in the first place.
